APRILIA LUBRICATION & WRENCHING ARCHITECTURE

Aprilia’s stressed-member parallel-twin platforms (RS 660, Tuareg 660, and the A2-class RS 457) run high compression ratios and aggressive cam profiles, specifying SAE 10W-50 JASO MA2 full-synthetic oil for high-temperature film strength. Pay special attention to Piaggio/Aprilia dipstick procedure: unlike Honda’s unscrewed dipstick check, Aprilia 660 twins specify checking oil warm on level ground with the dipstick fully threaded into the crankcase (verify per chassis generation) so you never overfill crank windage.
